Der SRAM 1 x 11 drivetrain facilitates shifting with a shifter and a rear derailleur. With just one chainring, you can easily choose a lower or higher gear without having to worry about when you should shift your front derailleur or how many sprockets you have to move up or down because you have changed the chainring in front.
